Child Safety Standards

These are the published standards of Kanvio, an app published by Korrelated, LLC, against child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE). They describe what we prohibit, how we prevent and detect it, what we do when we find it, and how to reach us. This page applies to everyone who uses Kanvio, everywhere it is available.

Zero Tolerance

Kanvio prohibits child sexual abuse and exploitation in every form, without exception. There is no context in which this content or conduct is permitted on Kanvio, and no appeal that restores it.

Specifically, the following are forbidden:

  • Child sexual abuse material (CSAM) — any image, drawing, or rendering that depicts a minor in a sexually explicit manner, whether photographic, illustrated, or generated.
  • Sexualization of minors — content that presents a minor in a sexualized way, including text, comments, and captions.
  • Grooming — contacting or befriending a minor with the intent of sexual exploitation, including attempts to move a conversation off Kanvio for that purpose.
  • Sextortion — threatening to expose intimate imagery of a minor to coerce them.
  • Trafficking and solicitation — advertising, requesting, or arranging the sexual exploitation of a minor.
  • Facilitation — linking to, directing users toward, or otherwise assisting access to any of the above.

These rules apply to every surface of the app: artwork, avatars, challenge images, profile text, comments, and handles.

How We Prevent It

  • Kanvio is not available to children under 13. Age is established at sign-up — on iOS 26 and later through Apple's Declared Age Range API, which shares only an age range, and otherwise through a date-of-birth check. The under-13 block persists on the device and survives reinstalling the app.
  • Accounts aged 13–17 are placed in a protected mode automatically, with no setup required. Their location is hidden by default, their profiles show no personal identifiers, they cannot add external social links, and only trusted friends' mentions reach them.
  • Kanvio has no private messaging. There is no direct-message feature, no chat, and no ephemeral messaging — removing the channel through which grooming most commonly occurs.
  • Parents can link to a minor's account and control who may contact them, restrict their feed and map to trusted friends only, require approval of new trusted friends, and pause the account remotely.

How We Detect and Remove It

  • Every image is scanned automatically before anyone else can see it. Artwork, challenge images, and avatars are checked with Google Cloud Vision SafeSearch. Content is withheld from other users until the scan completes, and anything scoring at the highest level for adult or violent content is blocked outright and held for review — it is never shown to another user.
  • Text is scanned as well. Comments and descriptions are checked with Google Cloud Natural Language; content over our threshold is blocked, and borderline content is hidden from minors.
  • Any user can report content or another user from inside the app, with Child Safety offered as the first reason in the report sheet.
  • Reports are reviewed and acted on within 24 hours. Confirmed CSAE results in immediate removal of the content and permanent termination of the account responsible. We also act on the account's other content.

Reporting to Authorities

When we become aware of apparent child sexual abuse material on Kanvio, we report it to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) through the CyberTipline. NCMEC forwards reports to the appropriate law enforcement agencies, in the United States and internationally.

We preserve the relevant material and account records as required by law so that investigators can access them, and we cooperate with valid legal requests from law enforcement. Where local law requires reporting to a different national authority, we report there as well.

How to Report a Concern

Inside the app. Tap the report control on any piece of artwork, comment, or profile and choose Child Safety, the first option in the list. You do not need to leave Kanvio to do this, and you do not need to be the person affected.

By email. Write to contact@kanv.io. Reports about child safety are prioritized ahead of other correspondence.

If a child is in immediate danger, contact your local emergency services first. In the United States you can also report directly to the NCMEC CyberTipline at report.cybertip.org or 1-800-843-5678.

Please do not download, save, or forward suspected child sexual abuse material in order to report it. Send us the location of the content — the handle, or a link to the piece — and we will retrieve it.

We review these standards at least once a year, and whenever we ship a change that affects how minors use Kanvio or how content is moderated.
